Where to eat in New York

Takumi Taco, New York City: Japanese Inspired Mexican Food-- Yum!

One of the nicest things about Mexican food, and tacos in particular, is that you can put your own cultural twist on the flavor and create a whole new culinary experience.

“The first time I ate at Takumi Taco I thought the Japanese had landed in Mexico. Those tacos melt like butter in your mouth! It's always something I look for when I drop in on the Big Apple.” Isaac Shitake

How They Do It

Start by braising some beef short ribs in Sapporo beer. Make sure the meat is cooked until it is tender, remove it from the bones, and then place several juicy chunks in a warmed corn tortilla with a sauce of wasabi crema. Next you will top your taco with avocado cream, napa cabbage slaw, scallions, and sprinkle lightly with black sesame seeds. Enjoy!

Be sure to check them out at TakumiTaco.com the next time you're in New York City!
